Michael Dean, Director of TourismIdeas, has worked at a senior level for several major travel companies, including RCI, Holiday Cottages Group, Thomson Travel Group, the Rank Organisation and Hoseasons.

Within those organisations he has been responsible for UK and overseas holidays for well-known brands such as English Country Cottages, cottages4you, Welcome Cottages, Blakes, Haven Holidays and Hoseasons.

In addition, Mike’s commitment to the tourism industry and to rural communities has seen him serve in several important roles in a number of organisations.

These have included Directorships with the Institute of Travel and Tourism, the East Anglia Tourist Board and the Boards of Finance for the Dioceses of Bradford and Norwich.  Mike has also served as Chairman of the ITT on two occasions.

Mike;s commitment to local rural communities has seen him involved with a project to deliver IT resources and skills to farmers following Foot and Mouth disease, and acting as a Trustee for a  village hall development project that won a major National Lottery grant.  He is also committed to ensuring young people develop skills and learning for modern businesses.
